Company History

Established in 2006 Tuna Construction, LLC provides a variety of construction services in the Greater New Orleans area and surrounding areas.  Through client centric practices we provide quality work and achieve satisfaction by focusing on the needs of the project through budget and schedule, attention to detail and hands on commitment to the successful completion of the project.   

Our team has years of versatile commercial construction experience that allows us to offer unique problem solving solutions to issues throughout the construction process that maintain the schedule completion on time and within budget.

Carter Rownd

Carter Rownd

Carter joined Tuna in 2010 after starting his career in Baton Rouge, where he earned his bachelor’s in construction management at Louisiana State University. He developed skilled trades working for a small contractor until starting his own commercial construction company in 2006 specializing in hotel renovations.

His construction experience includes new construction, renovations, historic renovations, and environmental remediation projects within the hospitality, education, multi-family, assisted living, marine, and agricultural processing industries.

At Tuna, Carter has performed every position possible from field to office which lends him to quick problem resolution. He is an energetic leader that collaborates with his team with candor and care. He is a motivated self-starter with a high attention to project details and can see the big picture. He believes in a we over me mentality and always presents safety as the number one priority on any job site.

Patrick Rownd

Patrick Rownd

Batchelor’s Degree in Management from SLU and full time career in construction for 20 years. Past projects include multiple historic renovations such as McMain Envelope Repair, Laurel School Refurbishment, Refurbishment at Lafayette Elementary School, Harriet Tubman Cottage, Henry Allen School Restoration, and Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans.

Patrick graduated from SLU with a degree in Small Business Entripenurialship with the dream of owning his own business. In 2006, Patrick and his business partner started Tuna Construction focusing on school renovations and public bid projects.

At the beginning of the companies origin, Patrick wore multiple hats from accounting, estimating and project management, which is his forte. Once his brother, Carter, came on board, they decided to split responsibilities between onsite and office.

Today, Patrick leads the estimating team and offers his expertise throughout the course of projects. He approaches every situation with a level head and works within reason to benefit all parties. Patrick is a hands-on leader that values every member of the team and gives the trust and respect to allow the team to perform their duties.

Lisa Sahuque

Lisa Sahuque

Lisa holds a degree in paralegal studies from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. With strong family ties to the New Orleans commercial construction industry, she began her career as an onsite project administrator for Phase Two of the New Orleans Convention Center. Lisa continued her expansive career in commercial construction working with several large GC firms in the New Orleans metro area on a wide array of notable projects in the metro area providing project and contract administration.

She brings a multifaceted skill set to Tuna as the VP of Operations including pre-bid document analysis, prime contract administration, as well as federal, state and local compliance requirements including, DBE, certified payroll, tax exemption, sales tax, CDBG, FEMA, etc. Lisa works closely with ownership, management, field supervision and project collaborators to facilitate billings, maintain document control and oversee policy and procedures. Her knowledge and experience of job costing, company financials, risk mitigation, bonding, prime and subcontract insurance requirements, site safety and “best practice” of industry standards plays a key role in the success of Tuna.

Ben Seymour

Benjamin Seymour

Ben holds degrees in Construction Management and Political Science from LSU, with minors in Engineering and Business. He brings over 25 years of leadership experience in project & field management. During his career he was responsible for oversight of commercial construction projects for the State, Municipalities, as well as Healthcare and Hospitality sectors.

Ben is responsible for thorough and comprehensive leadership, management, financial success, and execution of all aspects of the project lifecycle. Ben manages and works directly with Project Superintendents, Project Managment Teams, Architects, Owners, and Consultants to ensure conformance with contract documents and meet or exceed industry standards and overall project goals. Ben brings a team mentality to project delivery with a focus on success, collaboration, and recognition of all parties involved. In his spare time, Ben enjoys attending LSU events, hunting, fishing and traveling. Additionally, Ben has served in various capacities on executive boards in the construction industry over his career.
